Martha's Vineyard Proposals: Edgartown Lighthouse Edition

I don’t know if Edgartown Lighthouse is THE most popular spot for proposals, but it’s definitely one of the most-requested spots. It’s easy to see why, with its variety of backdrops, iconic architecture, and beautiful light no matter the season.

Besides babies, surprise proposals are one of my favorite things to photograph. I love to capture your proposal and then take some engagement photos afterwards (sometimes including your family, who may have come for the suprise).

Photographing your proposal is also becoming more popular of an idea - and no surprise there, as more and more couples want a record of the experience, a way to save the moment your life will change with the before and after.

No matter the season, Edgartown Lighthouse does not disappoint as a backdrop for your proposal.

I love to help couples craft the experience into a meaningful one, even in a place where so many proposals happen.

Also, I’m not saying it’s me, but no one has ever said no when I’m photographing.

Sometimes it’s hard to tell who is more nervous leading up to the asking, but that’s part of the thrill to me - being in on your secret, helping you plan the moment, and being witness for the joy and celebration are all part of why I love photographing proposals on Martha’s Vineyard.

If you’re planning to propose (whether at the lighthouse or another spot), I’d love to hear from you!
